Young. Juicy red cherry fruit, tartness and tannins right up front. This supporting acidity will be welcome in 5 years. Good now, and played well with grilled picanha steak, but all elbows in its youth. Try again after 2025 so it can, as the Beatles said “come together”. 91-93 potential

Half bottle. Deep, dense ruby. Aromas of pepper, wood spice, and herbs. Full bodied, ripe blackberry fruit with uplifting citrus and acidity, fine grained tannin and creosote on the finish. The barest hint of soil at the end. Quite a modern impression. If I had tasted this blind, I would have hazarded a guess for northern Rhone something. Had someone said it was Burgundy, a burlier appellation might have come to mind, but Chambolle would not have been on the radar at all.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Best of the lineup. Lots of red fruit with very good concentration, weight and enough structure for very good balance. Plenty of textural charm throughout, helping provide greater length and energy. 91-92 point potential.
