Thursday, May 13, 2021 - Very disappointing. I brought this wine to an Italian tasting and dinner where we had fabulous Italian wines. Unfortunately this one didn't hold up to the others. This one tasted more like cherry cough syrup than a nice bottle of wine. Very dry with minerals. Strong cherry and still a very strong alcohol taste with a long unpleasant after taste. I really wanted to like this wine so we tried decanting for a while and came back to it a couple hours later. It mellowed but the cherry cough syrup was still the first impression.
The alcohol remained strong. Maybe a few years will help but I am not excited to try this one again.
