Sunday, April 14, 2019 - A deep garnet red color. Drinks more like a medium bodied wine. Pleasant tannins, medium acidity. Nicely balanced. Berries and plum, green peppercorn and herbaceous upon opening, mellowed after 1/2 hr aeration to hints of sweet tobacco, cocoa powder and black olive. A very pleasant wine. However, not the peppery boldness that I think of when I think of syrah. But delicious just the same. Paired very well with a Italian Tortellini soup and a square of dark chocolate for dessert! Would definitely buy again.
