High fine-grained tannins, high acidity. Primary aromas/flavours of black cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, black pepper. Moderte secondary aromas/flavours of cedar and toast. Hint of leather, forest floor and barn. Well balanced tannins, acidity, and concentration. Long finiah. An outstanding wine. Keep for another 5-8 years.

A deep garnet red color. Drinks more like a medium bodied wine. Pleasant tannins, medium acidity. Nicely balanced. Berries and plum, green peppercorn and herbaceous upon opening, mellowed after 1/2 hr aeration to hints of sweet tobacco, cocoa powder and black olive. A very pleasant wine. However, not the peppery boldness that I think of when I think of syrah. But delicious just the same. Paired very well with a Italian Tortellini soup and a square of dark chocolate for dessert! Would definitely buy again.

Surprisingly open and accessible, but that is probably also a symptom of the wine's limitations. It reminds me more of a Southern Rhone CDR than a Cornas. The tannin is really soft and integrated, not a tannic monster as Cornas wines can be. The blackberry dominated fruit is clean and nice and packed into a vanilla blanket but with no real edges and complexity. Wins a little back with a few hours of air. Will it improve with more ageing? I am not sure.

A pretty ruby with a slightly purple hue. Nose is fruity dominated by blackberry with some sous bois and a nice, fresh herbal streak (eucalyptus?). The blackberry carries on to the palate along with black pepper and the aforementioned herbs which are never green or intrusive but only fresh and cleansing. Tannins are there but overall balance is very good. A burgundy drinker's syrah without being overly lean or acidic.

Verrassend. Elegante, fragiele smaak voor een corona’s.
