Tuesday, March 21, 2017 - A night with Strandveld’s & Saronsberg’s wines, with Mandy Dewing. Wine 11: 13% ABV. The wine was bright light to medium ruby in colour and offered red fruit, some smoke and some oak spice on the nose; and red fruit, some coffee, some smoke and oak spice on the palate, with medium to medium-plus acidity, medium-level tannin and good length. The medium- to full-bodied Pinot Noir had good concentration, but seemed very young and needs time. I would recommend holding for at least five years. 89+ for now, with potential to improve.
