Thursday, October 6, 2022 - Decanted 2 hours. Drank over 2 hours with steak. After the decant, the nose was very obviously alcoholic and prunes. Rich nose of black fruit, tar, vanilla. Conflicted as to whether I liked it because the alcohol was overwhelming. Probably closer to 90 pts. Over the next 2 hours the alcohol eventually blew off. Now down to the last half glass and it is much more enjoyable. Black fruit. Menthol, licorice. Goodly amount of tannin and acid. Very enjoyable now. In hindsight should have decanted 4 hours.
