Thursday, December 17, 2020 - 3 years have made this '16 quite a lot smoother and more balanced. Tropical fruit in the forefront on the nose; melon, mango and pineapple. Broad citrus and a thin slice of lime also in the mix. Crisp minerality, trademark limestone. Overall a quality nose which grows significantly with air.
The palate turns more towards the limestone and mineral feel than the exotic fruits. Powerful with vibrant acidity, crisp and with a crunch between the teeth. Medium long aftertaste. Obvious potential, you can easily sense the quality of the vines and with more cellar time this will match most GG's. Also, still as good qpr as there is in the world of Riesling.
