Tuesday, September 20, 2016 - This bottle could go until 2025. Decanted for an hour and improved with time in the glass. Deep dark cherry and blackberry fruit, pepper, graphite, faint char and a little cedar that comes with age. Good balance and length. Softened enough to be versatile with food too. It's good to know these age so well. I recently had a 2000 (a notoriously poor vintage in Napa) and while far more mature than this 2001 it was holding up surprisingly well.
