Thursday, April 18, 2019 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Pre-Easter tasting (@Private location): Tasted blind. Clear, pale golden color. Medium intense nose, not 100% clean with a tiny bit of cellar mold. Ripe pear, a bit musty, acacia, a bit of oak, blossoms, smoke. Quite complex. White Rhone?
Dry, medium acidity, quite high alcohol. On the palate quite creamy, lots of extract, good balance, full bodied. Ripe fruit, some floral notes and again a bit of cellar mold. Medium+ finish. Quite young.
That should be Sauvignon Blanc? Seriously? Never guessed that. Serious wine, but I guess it was a bit tainted, so no “official” rating. At this stage around 88-89 for me.
