85 Points

Tuesday, August 8, 2017 - For what this is, it is quite exceptional. Frontera is Concha y Toro's bottom-level line, but quality still shows. Dark color, appealing nose, a little on the soft side, with quite a bit of ripe fruit and a little oak in the background. One-dimensional and undemanding, but quite tasty. Excellent bargain-basement quaffer and party wine. At the $4 level you don't look for much, but this wine is actually very drinkable and lacks any glaring faults. Better than many wines costing twice as much - or more.
