Saturday, June 1, 2019 - On opening, the wine was reticent with red fruits and violets. I decanted it and noted that it is black/red, with an opaque rim, not the really dark of some Australian cabs. The nose started to develop (it was probably too cold initially) to reveal dark fruit (plums, cassis) and chocolate/mocha notes.
The palate is very well balanced, with good dark and red fruit, some well integrated oak and acid. It is medium bodied, not a brooding monster, and drank well at only 4 yrs of age. I was expecting more density and tannins, but this is a fine wine that will age well, but can be drunk now.
