This was in a good place in terms of having fine aromatics and feeling ready on the palate. Some dark mahogany and old leather (and alcolol) notes together with a definite touch of Vosne spice in the finish. Yet this remained frustratingly curmudgeonly and somewhat grumpy and stylistically strict in offering up its wares. Perhaps on it's own it would have shone more.
