Friday, August 16, 2019 - Day 1: Powerful dark fruits, floral, vanilla on the nose. Amazingly smooth and drinkable upon opening - surprised it didn’t seem to need air. Decanted for 3 hours but did not seem to change much. Very smooth and drinkable, fantastic balance, not too acidic, not too astringent - tannins are subdued, lower acid, blackberry, plum, cassis and vanilla oak. Not as much complex cigar box or old leather when compared to a double-the-cost Leonetti, but this Quilceda CVR is an amazing everyday drinker that provides ample pleasure. I plan to let my flagships age 10 more years while I enjoy these CVRs. Day 2: Still delicious with slightly less oak. Impressive for a 2nd label.
