Tuesday, December 24, 2019 - When compared to the ‘14, this comes across slightly brighter, and more structured. Black cherries and cream, licorice, sandalwood, and espresso leap from the glass. The palate is slightly less fruit forward than the nose, showing added notes of graphite, potpourri, dark chocolate shavings and tart currant. Silky tannins but still enough backbone for this to age nicely. In fact, while I’d pop ‘14s now, I’d hold these another 2-3yrs to get to how the ‘14s are drinking today.
