Friday, April 9, 2021 - Very very good. And a great value
Dark fruit, currant, spice, tobacco. The finish is lengthy and there is just a hint of menthol at the end.
There is some earthiness present lending it some old world quality. But the fruit forwardness leaves no doubt it is new world. Balanced with sweet tannin. In my mind the best Washington Cabernet is more to my liking than the big Cali Cabs. Bigger and more fruit forward than Bordeaux but with some of the same subtle complexity the best straddle both worlds. This is a second wine and without a doubt doesn’t have the same power and complexity as the flagship wine. But the price to quality ratio is through the roof.
Just killed it with a grilled bavette
