Tuesday, October 21, 2014 - Like the Poncie, this wine smells and tastes rather pruney on opening, albeit less so. With modest exposure to air, it becomes quite fine, with precise, freshening acidity giving good lift and cut, reserved fine tannins, and just a bit of fruit - in the plum/prune direction, and attractive, though prune is not obviously an appealing descriptor. This is very good wine at nine years; I'm glad I stocked up in 09 and 11.
