Sunday, July 9, 2023 - Removed from 55 degree cellar and decanted two hours before dinner. Served with Caprese salad and ribeye steaks. Wood shavings, eucalyptus and black fruits. It is hot in the mouth. A bit too much alcohol? Too young? Lots of powdery tannins, but nicely in sync with the deep dark fruits. Perhaps I should have been patient. Based upon how the wine is drinking now, it is quiet a good wine but not magnificent (thus the 92 points). In five years the 92 might morph into 95. Long finish… spicy with waves of mint and red fruits. The more I sip the more I enjoy. While good with the steak, this wine was even better with the post dinner chocolates. A bit too “big” for us francophiles, but this solidifies the QC reputation.
