Tuesday, September 22, 2020 - Color shows a little bit of brown at the meniscus. After about 90 minutes, the nose is vaguely mushroom and wet forest floor, but it’s all rather soft, rounded, and not very pronounced. Taste is dried cherry, mushroom, and wet moss. Honestly, it’s better than that sounds. The bitterness I’ve seen previously is now gone. There’s still a good bite from the high alcohol, but the flavors have melded nicely — the mouth feel is soft and rounded. Moderate complexity, moderate plus finish (being generous), and very low, soft tannins. Nothing to write home about, but for $19 US (give or take) it’s a solid deal. It doesn’t hit a lot of notes, but I like the ones it hits.
