Saturday, November 2, 2019 - An amazing opportunity to taste again an old Burg I thought had gone by. I had come to feel I'd just drunk all my case too young. Then one I'd given away came back for drinking. Colour - darker than the early bottles, though obvious browning to rim. Not much on nose, bits of earth and dark mushrooms. But lovely, really lovely, to taste. Dark black fruits, berry and cherry. Then blood, iron and fur. Old school. Great acidity and still quite tannnic on the finish. Which is long. Much greater depth. So, I was quite right to regret drinking my case too young. And if you have any, no rush.
