Thursday, October 1, 2009 - Nice expression of Aglianico de Vulture. Still quite a bit of tannins and acids when first opened. Needs to breathe a while to open the nose, which slowly reveals black fruit, cherry notes, black licorice and hemp seed, which follow through to the mouth. Nice finish with more dark cherry with hint of mushroom. Great value wine, as many of the oft-overlooked aglianico wines are.
