  Bottiglia ben conservata.
  Colore molto bello ed ancora intenso, con unghia tendente al mattone, ma non troppo evoluta.
  Naso che necessita (come spesso l'aglianico) di una buona ossigenazione iniziale, poi spunto il goudron, il tabacco, la liquirizia, prugne secche, terra umida, sfumature mentolate e boschive: naso decisamente virato sui sentori terziari.
  Bocca bella piena e godibile, ancora carnosa, leggermente "catramosa", evoluta al punto giusto, con tannini ottimamente risolti ed ancora con una discreta acidità rimanente.
  Sorprendente evoluzione per un Aglianico "base" corretto, ma in gioventù senza troppe pretese. L'aglianico è senza dubbio vino che necessita un corretto affinamento. Paternoster ha materia prima di alta qualità, anche per i vini più economici. Rispetto al 2000 bevuto l'anno scorso, questo 2001, meglio conservato, è notevolmente più equilibrato e armonico.

  Nice expression of Aglianico de Vulture. Still quite a bit of tannins and acids when first opened. Needs to breathe a while to open the nose, which slowly reveals black fruit, cherry notes, black licorice and hemp seed, which follow through to the mouth. Nice finish with more dark cherry with hint of mushroom. Great value wine, as many of the oft-overlooked aglianico wines are.

  Tobacco, spice, earth, blackberries. Complex, interesting wine. Really gives a sense of its origins in volcanic soil.

  Dark red, young nose of nutty dark fruit, on the palate has several layers of flavor, notes of olive, toast, dark cherry. A high-quality, very complex wine but not really my cup of tea. Possibly because this is from young vines, as I preferred a 2000 Fucci Aglianico last year.
