Monday, December 4, 2017 - 81% CS, 19% Merlot. Splendid ripeness without a truckload of alcohol (12.6%). Dark and brooding black red, nose of cassis, currants, oak spice, mocha, and a lovely amarena cherry/plum palate, textured with dark chocolate. There is a lot of tread left on the tannins, but they are chewy and not bitter. This shows beautifully now but will be astounding by 2020. More perfumed and with richer textures than most petite chateaux in Bordeaux and will compete well against some classed growths. In terms of style, think of a 2012 Leoville Barton 92-94.
