Tuesday, May 25, 2021 - Almost 2 years since my last bottle. Unfortunately it has not really improved. Fortunately, it is still a great wine. Just not as complex as I would hope based on this vineyard, this vintage, and this price to play. Nice nose, big fruits and nice balance. But not the kind of wine that makes you think a lot. Hope this review doesn't sound negative - because again, it is a great wine (especially on a Tuesday). Just not a wine I would plan a Saturday evening dinner around.

5/26/2021 6:39:00 AM - Been almost 2 years since my last also and now yo make me want to try....
I agree with you and your comments. With this pricing, we should see pretty decent wine, not just a $50 fruit bomb. This has been my fear with many of these types of wines, that we'd hold them a few years, they'd calm down so much, we'd have just fruit and alcohol left. I'm going to have to try another soon and see.....thanks for your note.

5/26/2021 6:58:00 AM - What's interesting is that I was very much impressed by a recent 2016 Myriad Dr. Crane, thought it was firing on all cylinders--maybe this still needs time? Your review is not negative, but it's helpful knowing how the wine is showing, and the fact that you also drank a bottle 2 years ago. I'd guess that's around the time I drank my first bottle, and I was holding off probably for the same reasons you were.

5/26/2021 11:34:00 AM - I would wait a little while longer on these. Or maybe try more air than I gave it (only about an hour in the decanter and then sent through a Vinturi. Drank over 2 hours). I did have a '16 Myriad Dr Crane Elysian about a month or so ago that I scored a '98. So I do not think it is the vintage necessarily (unlike most of the '18's that seem a little shut down to me right now). I did not get any of the '16 Carter LPV - would be interesting to see how those are drinking...

Gave the more highly scored '15 a 93, will be pleased if I can give this that score.

5/27/2021 2:23:00 AM - Thanks for the review and sorry to read this. I have not tried these ‘16 LPVs in the hope that they would improve vs early reviews. Sounds like that might not happen.
Mark—this fits the ztp
