Monday, May 22, 2023 - Flagship Hunter Valley Shiraz and feels like a more similar in style to the Northern Rhone than any other Australian. Here we have a pronounced wet earth & forest floor character that lifts the nose and adds complexity. Black cherries, stewed plums, red cherry compote, and blackberry make up the fruit profile, with some toffee, milk chocolate, anise, & licorice. With an hour of air blueberry became evident. Oak is background, doesn't overbear, and the wine is medium bodied with delicate tannins. Great length.
