Deep purple cherry. Somewhat closed nose, scents of ripe dark berries and licorice. Silky texture, very fine tannins and nice acidity. Ripe dark cherry and plum with a light raspberry edge. Delicious dark spice, with any oak influence totally integrated. Super smooth, but a bit reticent, needs five or ten to open up, nevertheless gorgeous drinking now.

little 12 months since may last bottle , very little has changed
This wine has a magnificent aroma; concentrated yet complex. I love the bright, intense raspberry, red plum and red mulberry notes, plus the slight roasted meat nuances, which add depth and interest. It is a pure and focused, medium-bodied wine. Juicy and vibrant. Love it.
Flagship Hunter Valley Shiraz and feels like a more similar in style to the Northern Rhone than any other Australian. Here we have a pronounced wet earth & forest floor character that lifts the nose and adds complexity. Black cherries, stewed plums, red cherry compote, and blackberry make up the fruit profile, with some toffee, milk chocolate, anise, & licorice. With an hour of air blueberry became evident. Oak is background, doesn't overbear, and the wine is medium bodied with delicate tannins. Great length.

This review from Toni Paterson perfectly describes the wine , written in May 2019 and not much has changed since then

NobleRottersSydney - a fine finale (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 13.7%} [Aaron] This is unbelievable young still, with essence of blueberry fruit, and maybe some sulphur? I thought it a bit rubbery and reductive but I seemed isolated in that judgement. The palate is savoury and dry though, with a cranberry tinge to the flavour, and subtle smoky oak. Medium/high acid, medium chalky tannins, medium weight. But a long, savoury, balanced and even finish. Needs a decade probably at least. Served beside the Mount Pleasant; this tasted younger and fruiter, perhaps less complete just now, but with better potential for the future.
