Wednesday, December 12, 2018 - A richer, riper, late harvest style of Lacrima. Medium (+) to deep purple in color, even after a couple of years. The nose is floral and aromatic, with candied violets, lavender, ripe black fruit, ripe blue fruit and cinnamon. No oak, all stainless steel. The palate is fruit forward, somewhat jammy, to the extent of appearing off-dry. The acidity is medium to medium (+), the alcohol is medium (+) (13.5%). The tannins are medium (+) and velvety. This is a more complex, richer, expression of Lacrima, with smooth, velvety mouthfeel. The best of the flight, IMHO, this is drinking well now, not likely to improve with further aging.
