Sunday, November 24, 2019 - Gorgeous deep red colour. Contucci riserva spends at least 12 months in oak (big barrels as characteristic of the region). The nose opens with sour cherry and plum. After some decanting time, plenty of earthy notes, baking spices, a hint of menthol. Wonderful nose.
Tannins are still a bit green, acidity is high. Medium body. Medium aftertaste, dominated by marasca cherry.

It's a good product, but it doesn't really hit the jackpot for the vintage. There are plenty of better productions on that year for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
