Saturday, June 24, 2023 - Definitely a better bottle than the last, especially the aromatics. Purplish-garnet, glass-staining viscosity, expressing lovely initial scents of red berries, iron, and licorice that evolve to more earthy and complex tones. The palate is not as intense and effusive as the nose but offers a pleasing, supple sweetness with a hint of bitterness that appears with certain foods. Though the flavor impression lacks complexity and persistence, the wine drinks well now, yet has plenty of life remaining, and represents a great current value.
