Sunday, August 29, 2021 - Similar to my notes from last year. There is a profile here that reminds me a bit of Krug in that it contains a beautiful richness that is compelling and flavorful without being heavy or overly doughy. Les Barres is more focused and complex than Krug, and is also sans the banana peel flavor that some Krug bottlings posses.

This bottle is in a perfect drinking window. A good combination of breadth and energy. A well-honed example of the sometimes rustic Pinot Meunier varietal. Drink now and over the next handful of years to best maintain freshness (unless you're into the whole 20 year old oxidative thing).
