Wednesday, July 17, 2019 - Napa 2019; 7/14/2019-7/18/2019: Tasted at Wheeler Farms with Shae and eventually Nigel. Great people, great project! This wine was also wound right behind a wall of tannins but poked its head out 90 min into our visit. What a beauty. What did poke through showed Mostly black fruit with a typical mountain profile of forest floor, some mineral notes, faint red fruit. Like its 16 counterpart, needs 8-10 in the slumbering cellar. Patience will absolutely be rewarded on this wine. No points today. Buy or regret!

7/19/2019 7:53:00 PM - Both were tannic but beastly. They will need to slumber for several years before showing their beauty. I think the Fait Main Sleeping Lady will drink better earlier simply because the tannins are not hiding everything else, though the Kinsman will age far better.

Regardless, this is a great project to follow (despite the hit to the wallet!) and look forward to hearing some more notes from you on them in the future. Already read to throw down some money on the '18 Geeslin!

7/26/2019 1:17:00 PM - I have no idea on bottle treatment, but it was a root day. I can’t wait to try the ‘18 Geeslin either. Every 2018 barrel sample we tasted was awesome.
