Wednesday, March 8, 2023 - Expectations are a dangerous thing and can ruin your enjoyment of a bottle before ever giving it a real shot. Having opened many bottles of K Vintners produce, you'd typically expect a big full bodied, long finishing, (some would feel over the top), brute.
Stylistically, this wine is a surprise. Colored more like a Pinot, with delicate flavors, albeit a very long finish. It's not a S. Rhone, nor a Priorat or even a Red Mountain Grenache. An expression all its own. Interesting, though I would agree with others about a bit of an odd flavor across the finish.
I'd expect this bottle has another year or two in the bottle before more secondary flavors take over.
Leave your expectations at the door and enjoy this wine for what it is.
