Saturday, July 8, 2023 - Opened this at my brother's new home over dinner with my family. We had food from Pu Tien and Colin's.

One of my favourites which has consistently delivered quality and value over the years. Dark brooding red with a tinge of inky purple.

On the nose, captivating bouquet of blackberries, plums, and dark cherries, intertwined with alluring notes of black pepper, eucalyptus, and a touch of mocha. The aromas are intriguing intense and complex.

On the palate the power and harmony co-existed perfectly. A symphony of ripe black fruits, including blackberry, plum, and cassis, complemented by hints of dark chocolate, licorice, and an intriguing earthiness danced effortlessly on the palate.

Structure still holding very well at 18 years of age, with velvety tannins that provide a luxurious mouthfeel and a sense of elegance. The balance between fruit, acidity, and oak is superb, and the wine exhibits a remarkable length that lingers on the palate, leaving a lasting impression.

Extraordinary, and highly recommended.
