Thursday, January 7, 2021 - Cherry red with a touch of bricking. Low neck fill. Cork entirely soaked, but no apparent seepage. Popped and poured -- we weren't sure if this would be a Will-o-the Wisp. A slight amount of funk at first but that blew off quickly. It was not a WoW! Lovely wine, loads of tart fruits, and showing well given its age. None of the herbacious notes that sometimes come with the Bdx of teh '70's. Loads of tannins, not much sweetness. A bit astringent. Truly a wine for old Bordeaux lovers. I can understand some of the fairly low ratings, but this is a good wine.
