Monday, January 23, 2023 - This is more like it! When I had this previously (12/31/20, 89 points), I noted that the structure was far in front of the fruit, but the one glass I still had left on the third night showed great promise. Now, with a bit more than an hour of air, the promise is fulfilled: a really impressively built—still—chard with racy acidity and surprisingly potent tannins joined by far more vibrant fruit with delightful sweet-savory notes. Held strong over 3 nights, so while I’m not sure that there’s much more upside, this should have several years of high quality drinking at this level. Notably balanced and elegant, this works equally well as a food wine—with both stuffed pasillas and chicken soup—and on its own. Would buy again and will keep an eye out for the BC SVD chards. Well done and recommended. 92-93+
