This is more like it! When I had this previously (12/31/20, 89 points), I noted that the structure was far in front of the fruit, but the one glass I still had left on the third night showed great promise. Now, with a bit more than an hour of air, the promise is fulfilled: a really impressively built—still—chard with racy acidity and surprisingly potent tannins joined by far more vibrant fruit with delightful sweet-savory notes. Held strong over 3 nights, so while I’m not sure that there’s much more upside, this should have several years of high quality drinking at this level. Notably balanced and elegant, this works equally well as a food wine—with both stuffed pasillas and chicken soup—and on its own. Would buy again and will keep an eye out for the BC SVD chards. Well done and recommended. 92-93+

Medium gold in colour with noticeable petulance on the glass. Aromas start out somewhat reductive, then lemon, floral & crushed gravel. On the palate, medium bodied citrus, lemon/lime, yellow apple, floral, biscuit, restrained buttery oak, medium acidity & a long finish to spice, salinity & crushed gravel.

Bright lemon yellow color, mango and fresh bread on the nose. Nice first impression: lively acidity and a touch of tart, ripe fruit. Green apple, pear and honey, with a good deal of minerality on the finish. Not a big buttery Chardonnay by any means. This is quite satisfying and a good QPR to boot!

Golden color. Fresh and light on the nose - lemon curd, lemon peel, white peach. Creamy, but still fresh on the palate - lemon custard, lemon gum drop, peach, vanilla. Medium bodied. Sweet lemon merangue/vanilla finish. Delightful, and great QPR at your neighborhood warehouse store.

Lots of controversy over this Cali Chard..... As for myself...I like this because it isn't a heavy Caramel/ butter bomb . On nose:minerals and notes of peach. On palate: the above flavour notes, well as vanilla / oak , in good balance , a surprising prominence of meyer lemon , as well as notes of golden apple ....as a lover of south African Chenin blanc and White Bordeaux , Chardonnay takes a back seat , but every once in a while ( keeping an open mind) I find something interesting ...this is well made....and deserves some age...4-5 years. Went well with Salmon tonight .
As PnP: near tropical fruit lushness on the nose. Rich lemon curd, medium acid, full bodied. The finish is reminiscent of a Viognier. Given a few hours of air and warming up, it really came around. Still very lemony and rich, but its lost its flabbiness and became rounder.
Open for business, but give it some air and time to warm up.

Not as subtle as the 2016. This vintage has a more oak in comparison and is more noticeable than the previous year’s. The fruit is well integrated and not exuberant, which is a hall mark of the Brewer-Clifton style. But, the noticeable oak takes away from the classy drink that this can be. I regret ordering this at the restaurant instead of something from Macon. Not bad, but forgettable. WS 92 pts and WA 91 pts is generous.

Really unremarkable, I don't get the hype. Style is restrained (oak and ripeness are not that high for a New World Chard), but it still felt a little hot and didn't have any tartness or zing in the acidity. Nothing wrong but forgettable entirely.
First of 2 $($24.99@) from the big box wine store, before seeing at Costco for $3@ less, never a good start. On the nose and palate, tart, tart, tart, mixed citrus and tropical fruits and green apples, rocky minerality, white flowers and the slightest hint of butterscotch to counteract. Light to medium yellow-gold, lightish bodied and legs. Intense acidity, no heat. Good intensity, moderate persistence and complexity. Well, I thought that this was to be the season of my non-winedrinking, but the wine gods have given me a brief dispensation, and with the cupboard bare of Auberts, this was a first time choice, although I've had a number of B-C chards and pinots over the years. 9 times out of 10, I find CA chards too oaky, buttery or sweet, to the extent they are on either side of the line, but be careful what you wish for: this wine was a ball of savory salinity with an intense acidity punch which left me wishing for more of a counterpoint. Racy and energetic with a powerful spine, this seemed to me to need more flesh, coming off a bit unbalanced without food, a bit overbearing with my spicy scallops, with which I'd have thought it would have shined. My impression has remained similar with varying amounts of air and temperature changes over 2 nights, although I think that there's a chance that this could balance out with time. Still, I'm a couple of points below consensus, making me wonder if my palate is off after a few weeks without--I'll get a better test with the higher end red the gods are going to permit me--or if this is an off bottle. For now, I'll score it as not bad but slightly disappointing with possible upside. 88-89
NB: In this week of drinking slowly, this made it to a 4th night, and I like it MUCH better, much softer and better integrated with more diverse flavor notes, even if slightly less vivid, and better with food. Easy 90-91. Would stock up at the Costco price, but not for drinking now. Would give 2-3 years, or give at least 6+++ hours air.

Lots of nuttiness and generous fruit on the nose. Praline, and ripe lemon that are quite intense. Juicy lemon, tropical fruit, stone fruit flavors and full bodied. Appearance: Gold core, translucent rim. No sediment. Lots of legs.
Nose: Good condition. Low intensity. Notes of butterscotch, lemon, dried apricot, pineapple, and something a little floral.
Palate: Butterscotch notes pull through, maybe toffee—these notes linger on the finish. Sour citrus notes are also present. It's not an overly sweet wine, it has medium acidity, and it is well balanced.

On the palate the wine was off dry with medium acid and alcohol. The finish was sharp and was low to medium. IT was well balance. I tasted butterscotch, pear, and lemon and a hint of oak.

I would have totally guessed this as an Old World wine from Macon region of France. Perfumed nose of tropical fruit, wet wool and green herbs. On the palate a bit less fruit, medium+ acids and a distinctly herbal character. Slightly bitter and gets more so towards the finish. Also again that feeling of wet wool.
Nah, not bad per se but not my cup. To bitter and lacking a bit of freshness. Will cellar the remaining 2 bottles and hope for the best.
bright yellow color, notes of melon, lemon oil and orange caress the nose, light to medium bodied, it is a bright, energetic style showcasing lime, ginger, crisp apple and hints of saline on the tongue, a bottle of sunshine selling for a modest price, very nice

Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, lemons/limes & a touch of grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, spices, some butterscotch & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium body with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & grapefruit with minerals, spices, some honey & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Appears to be readily accessible in its youth although it may develop further with additional aging.
