Tuesday, December 31, 2019 - Purchased from winery a few years back. Opened for NYE 2020. The bottle had a good amount of sediment (no surprise there), but carefully filtered that out and was left with a nice wine. Cork was in great shape.
Definitely a bit past its prime. All the fruit has left, but it had the nice tertiary notes - sour cherry, a bit acidic. However, when all was said and done, the bottle was empty at the end of the night. Really nice to see how this wine can age, even if it was a bit past its prime. I prefer my SLVs around 5-10 years of age. Drink up.
