91 Points

Wednesday, March 16, 2022 - First bottle of four. Pnp. This is opaque in the glass. Aromatically this takes some time to open up, but slowly opens up to reveal notes of vanilla, boysenberry, and black cherry. On the attack the polished and fine grained tannins build toward a tangy blackberry and boysenberry centric mid palate before transitioning into a black tea, smoke, and anise filled conclusion with just a hint of earthiness as this rounds out the finish. The acidity supports an appealing and balanced wine with the fruit elements equally weighted. Not overly complex, this wine brings exactly what I want in this range - A good value, well made wine, that works with food or on its own.

Half the bottle to be stored overnight and updated as appropriate.

Day 1 score 91.

Day 2 - The boysenberry, vanilla, and black cherry held up well overnight with the tannin more pronounced with medium dryness in the mid palate. Lost a little vigor overnight.

Overall a solid wine at a good price point. Nothing dazzling but likewise nothing disappointing.

Day 2 score - 90.
