Tuesday, June 20, 2023 - Ripe and unctuous nose, this is very aromatic, but still somewhat primary. Aromas of liqueur-like dark fruits, violet liqueur, toasted spice, roast beef, alpine forest... rather gruff and tense on the palate, dense and layered, fruit is so ripe and dark for Burgundy, acid and tannins make themselves known, this is quite a powerful Pinot. Not open yet, tannins are fine however, and this will surely become velvety in time. Long and coating finish. I'd wager this needs 10 or more years before it becomes really interesting, it is very concentrated.
