Sunday, February 9, 2020 - Riper than the 13’ Lafon Genevrieres served next to it. Honey and pear top notes, on the nose and palate. Steely in one way, with a good vein of clear acidity running through it, then ripe and round in another, almost like two different wines in one. Very good spice through the back and in to the palate. Has a real presence to it. However with air, it becomes more buttery and creamy. The vanilla really blooms, becoming bit over the top for me. First time trying this producer, and while very interesting, not quite enough freshness or tension, at least partly due to the vintage I’m sure.
