Thursday, February 11, 2021 - Still bright ruby in the glass. Beautiful nose, black cherry, quite ripe with a hint of jam, though nothing overworked. Savoury too, with black olive tapenade and wet stones. Medium bodied with fine chalky tannins and good length. Just a touch warm at the finish (it is 14.5% abv). Black cherry, toast, stalky and grippy. Lovely wine. An elegant St Joseph with plenty of substance. Drinking well now, but it could happily hold for the next 2 years.
