95 Points

Thursday, October 19, 2023 - Judgement of Eagan Wine Tasting (Jason's House): This wine was pitted against a 1993 Mouton, and for my palate, was the clear winner! A stellar showing and a classic MV!

The nuts and bolts: The nose was sublime, with the tell-tale sign of eucalyptus, earth, red fruit and some spice. Palate was equally up to the task, with plenty of red and black fruit, mushroom and forest floor, eucalyptus, anise and tar, with notes of forest floor and sweet toasted oak. The tertiary flavors were more toward the forefront than with previous bottles, sharing the spotlight with the fruit.....just where my palate enjoys wine the most! This bottle was in a perfect spot for my palate! Easily 95+ and I don't see it improving, but I also don't see it fading any time soon.

11/1/2023 9:22:00 PM - I've got one '97 and one '09 left in the cellar....the end date on here for the '97 is 2075. I don't think I'm gonna make it that long.......lol.
