Saturday, January 22, 2011 - Opened and left to breathe for 30 minutes. Surprisingly dark in color with a very aromatic nose of cassis, anise and leather. Medium to full bodied in the mouth with lots of blackcurrent and dark cherry fruit. Nice complexity with secondary characteristics of tobacco, leather and earth. 30+ second finish with integrated tannins. This wine is not huge but is refined and elegant. It shows great balance and freshness and drinks like a much younger wine. Seems to have several more years left which bodes well for my one remaining bottle! Great wine from a great vintage.
