Saturday, December 15, 2012 - Light to medium red, pale red at the edge. Developed nose with partially dried red berries, a touch rose petals, hints of decaying leaves and barnyard aromas (stronger initially), some mint, hints of tar, and some oak barrel notes. The nose is really classic! Medium bodied, sweetish red berries, some bitterness, hints of spice and mint, good acidity, medium+ tannin with rather adstringent finish. The palate is not quite at the same level as the nose, and indicates that it could benefit from a few more years in the cellar.
