Friday, October 26, 2018 - Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; essentially opaque. Full, fragrant, attractive nose of dark fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of spice & earthy notes, loam, briary/bramble, a hint of dark cocoa & coffee, minerals & a slight touch of vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, jammy, ripe dark fruit flavors of dark cherries, boysenberries & plums with spices, earthy, cocoa, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing but will develop and benefit from several more years of further aging. A blend of 73% Zinfandel, 17% Carignane, 7% Petite Sirah & 3% Alicante Bouschet.
