Sunday, March 15, 2020 - It is pale ruby to my eye. Lots of red fruit (cranberry, cherry, transient strawberry), vanilla, oak, and indistinct baking spices. The palate bursts with bright red berries helped along by the tartness of the wine grippy tannins are a touch slow to show up but when they do they rear their head and sort of yell, “Surprise!” It has plenty of heft on the palate as well. The finish is fairly short and consists of dried cranberry and black pepper.
