Saturday, June 3, 2023 - Cork was moldy and slippery but the wine was great right out of the gate. Tons of ripe fruit on the nose, plums, cherries, leather-bound books. As it opens up it gets a little thinner, a little greener and a little more earthy. Not in a bad way but it’s definitely changed. Palate is still plenty lively, full of strawberry acidity, candied cherry, more leather, strong but smooth tannins. Great with a dry aged NY strip. In a really good spot now for my tastes, probably has another 5+ years in that zone tbh.
