9/13/2022 7:42:00 AM - Thanks for the TN. I find VV to be bordering on modern vs classic, which is actually why I like it for Napa. What wineries from Napa do you prefer, just curious?

9/13/2022 10:07:00 AM - Montelena, Heitz, Dunn, Smith Madrone, Vine Hill Ranch, MacDonald, Dominus, Mondavi reserve, Bryant, Harlan, Promontory, Bond. I'm sure there are others. If you're curious (or bored), check my notes from a 5 day trip to Napa that I did last December.

9/13/2022 10:52:00 AM - That's a hell of a trip there! But, then again you are in Minnesota, so a trip like that is needed to get the most out of Napa. I'm 1.5 hours from Napa, so I am there every quarter, visiting up to 3 wineries each time. I'm on the more classic side myself in terms of my palate, so guys like Macdonald, VHR, Eisele, Dominus are styles I really like. I am starting to dip my toe in to BDX, but to be quite frank, it is a tad intimidating, but there are a few guys helping me out and hopefully I will get a jump start on that side of the pond.

9/13/2022 2:18:00 PM - Nice! Keep with Bordeaux. Some of the traditional old napa cabs are interchangeable with Bordeaux from a secondary/tertiary perspectie. And as weird as it sounds, Napa seems to be competing and winning for high prices, especially from a qualitative perspective.
