1975 Penfolds Shiraz St. Henri Claret

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Sunday, December 10, 2023 - Mid shoulder ullage. Crumbly cork.
Hopes were not high.
On first opening: Sultanas, plum pudding, touch of sherry, cedar.
Amazing length, reasonable mouthfeel.
Surprisingly it didn’t blow off and become mute. If anything it opened to a core of red fruits cherry and plum, a dash of spice.
Tasted far younger than its almost 50 years.
