Thursday, June 25, 2020 - Deep ruby, lightly hazy.

Nose: Cassis, melted mint chocolate, creme soda, crushed cinnamon.

Mouth: Layered flavors of jellied black currant, blackberry tart, and sugared plum are a palate wash, just barely giving ground to powdered coffee, licorice root, and milk chocolate notes before an easy finish of nutmeg, and cinnamon. Tannins are melted in completely even now as the finish elements mingle on and on.

Overall: Goddamn will this be a crowdpleaser: rich and lush, with a pronounced sugared edge to the upfront fruit that's just barely kept in check by the light bitter notes and the spiced finish. Hugely flattering and unapologetic. While completely in the realm of fruit bomb, this retains complexity, taking the stance that 'if we're going the route of the bakery house, everything on the menu gets packed in.' Could certainly be tightened up, but a player in its commitment to the style. Drink now - 2028.
