Friday, January 31, 2020 - Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Only 3,500 bottles produced. Aged 18 months in new and used French oak tonneaux (from Allier), then for 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks and at least 36 months in bottle. I do not think this is generally released yet. Family member pouring at the table said this should need longer aging in the cellar than the Manachiara but I thought this was very similar but a bit softer and rounder with a rather velvety finish and perhaps a more graphite/mineral undertone. Very fine wine but I would probably drink this a bit sooner than the Manachiara, still, it will be better with some more bottle age.
